Personal information

Wolfgang Barz is Interim Chair of Metaphysics in Summer Semester 2024. His teaching and research focuses on epistemology, philosophy of mind, ontology and philosophy of language. Presently, he is working mainly on problems of self-consciousness and self-knowledge. However, he is also interested in the structure of phenomenal concepts, the nature of non-existent objects as well as metaphilosophical questions - especially the question of what makes a topic an object of philosophical research. In the coming years, he is planning a research project on the question of how a direct realistic theory of perception based on a Meinongian conception of non-existent objects could look.
